Visiting Japan and curious about the local adult entertainment scene?
Before you step in, it’s important to understand how different shops treat foreign customers. Generally, there are three categories:

1. Same Price as Locals (Foreigner-Friendly)

Some shops are very welcoming and charge exactly the same as Japanese customers.
No hidden fees, no “foreigner tax.” These are often the best places for travelers because you can enjoy the experience without worrying about being overcharged.

2. Additional “Foreigner Fee”

Other shops allow foreign customers, but with a surcharge.
For example, a typical price list might look like this:

  • Membership Fee: Free
  • Photo Selection: ¥1,000
  • Repeat Request (Same Girl): ¥3,000
  • Foreign Customer Fee: ¥4,000

👉 The extra charge is usually explained upfront, but it’s something you’ll want to budget for.

3. Shops That Do Not Accept Foreigners

Finally, some venues simply do not accept foreign customers at all.
This may be due to language barriers, cultural considerations, or store policy. It’s important to respect this rule and not try to force entry.

Why This Matters

Understanding these three categories will help you avoid surprises and choose a shop that matches your comfort level, budget, and expectations.
